About

The aims of the Society are to promote good fellowship among members of the Society and to encourage members to maintain links with their respective Universities and with each other.

The Society will pursue these aims by organizing social, cultural, intellectual and sporting events, including an annual Alumni Dinner-type event, by encouraging student applications to our two Universities, and by promoting their interests to the general public.

Past History

The Society was founded in April 2019 by amalgamating the University of Cambridge Alumni Society and the Oxford University Society San Diego with Brian Beeston, Selwyn, Cambridge 1959 elected as President and John Newsam, Lincoln, Oxford, 1972, formerly President of the Oxford Society, as Vice- President. The Oxford University Society San Diego had been in operation since 2011 and the University of Cambridge Alumni Society had been since 2012.

The Society has typically organized over a dozen different activities each year, including Parlour Talks, Trivia Challenge Matches, a Boat Race Replay Brunch, Lawn Bowling Matches, visits to the Old Globe Theatre, the San Diego Opera and the City Ballet, Carol Service and an Annual Fall Evening Soiree.
